A Place to Call My Own.

Have you ever felt like important? As if you were that one guy in the room with his Phd who knew exactly what he was talking about? This isn't a normal feeling for myself. Yet, I got this feeling when I created my own website! For the first I felt like a REAL first grade teacher! I was this professional, put together, excellent teacher! Something like this lady:

She's like teacher barbie! Her kids are perfectly sitting in their desks, she looks like she has time to start some planning or grading, and her outfit and hair are perfect! That's how I felt once I created my own classroom website like I was a superhero teacher! Now my website is still a work in progress but I am so proud of it! I love just looking at it and thinking of ways that I will be able to use it in my classroom! Here is a link so you can check it out yourself:
It was also a new experience for myself to see my last name posted everywhere. As a girl I don't feel like I ever really connected with my last name. I am rarely called by it so I didn't think much of it. Yet, as I prepare to go into the professional world I am starting to use it a lot. My website was the first place it sunk in that I was Ms. Espy. Now I can't get enough of it and I use Ms. Espy way more than I should. I've had the opportunity to work on my website throughout this semester and I am loving watching it fill up with my projects. At the beginning of the semester I had thought that having my projects on their would be silly and that I'd quickly want to take them down. Yet, now that they are on their and I'm proud of them! I will now most likely keep them to keep a record of how far I have come. Also to be a reminder of the different resources and tools that are an option! I love my little website and can't wait to expand it and use it more as I begin to teach!

Website lover,
Ms. Espy
